Back in Canada

Back in Toronto, we were greeted by our happy family at the airport and grey skies in the city.  Rain, snow and cold air gripped us right when the airport doors slid open.  Missing the ocean and the hot sun keeps us reminded of the great trip we just had.

Thanks for following us on our journey!

Return to LA

We flew back across the ocean riding the NZ2 airbus.  Stacked with a touch screen monitor with loads of movies and shows we ate dinner, had a nap, ate breakfast and arrived in Los Angeles once again.  The city of angles didn’t seem so big the second time around and we were comfortable with our surroundings.  Driving on the other side of the road was a bit of an obstacle at first but we got our heads around it.  NO ROUNDABOUTS!!!

Staying with Jesse’s sister and brother-in-law was super fun!  We celebrated American Thanksgiving with the family and shared our travel stories with everyone.  We even hit up 6 Flags at Magic Mountain for some thrills after a day of digestion.  If you’ve never been, try Tatsu, it’s a ride and a half!

Thanks again to Jesse’s sister and brother and their family!

End of the road.

We ended up back in Auckland to drop off the camper van before we flew back overseas.  We were so thankful to have met up with some friends before we left having a couple of drinks and a bbq dinner.  New Zealand is such a great place to be.  The animals, the people, the plants and the water are all sweet as!

Christchurch in ruins.

It was sad seeing the aftermath of the earthquakes in Christchurch.  All of the CBD (central business district) was closed off to the public.  Cranes covered the sky and huge trucks rolled in and out of guarded checkpoints with massive demolition equipment and rubble.  The faces of the people were all the same, mouth open, eyes wide and very somber.
